Mr. Winter is currently the CEO of Auriga Capital Management (ACM) and the founder of Chaljeri Meats, a grass-fed beef operation, where his interest in the local, sustainable agriculture sector began. Prior to ACM, he served as CEO, principal, and founding partner of several financial services companies, including Auriga Holdings and Xzerta, LLC. In 2002, before the foundation of Xzerta, LLC, Mr. Winter was a founding partner of The Winter Group and served as CEO. The Winter Group was a fully integrated residential mortgage platform with capabilities that included mortgage origination, loan due diligence, securitization, distribution of RMBS, servicing, and asset management. Prior to his entrepreneurial activities, Mr. Winter was head of the mortgage trading desk at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ) and subsequently Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) after its acquisition of DLJ. During this time, DLJ was the top underwriter of non-agency CMOs for 20 consecutive quarters. Mr. Winter was a pioneer in the application of technology to the sourcing and distribution of RMBS. He has also worked at Kidder, Peabody as a trader and structurer and as an auditor at Deloitte and Touche. Mr. Winter has a BA from Wesleyan University and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU.
